Day 4: KCBW – Bags of Fun

Today’s Knit and Crochet Blog Week challenge is to put our crafting “unmentionables” on display. So, why not just dive in!

My knitting basket sits by the couch in my living room. It is a neutral grey soft sided fabric basket with an understated pretty interior that I enjoy. I mostly knit when I watch TV so this is the place where I keep my works in progress and my commonly used knitting tools for easy access when I need them.

In my basket, I have a Namaste circular needle organiser (won at a knitting guild draw several years ago), a stray circular needle (probably an Addi Turbo, but I’m not sure as the label rubbed off ages ago) …

… Addi Clicks (40th birthday present from my mom and sister), a Knitpicks magnetic chart keeper (which still contains the chart for my Childhood Memories shawl) …

… a notebook, pen, ChiaGoo nostepinne (which I bought last fall and have never used) and an old pencil case of my son’s filled with crochet hooks …

… an owl pencil case containing a blue plastic box that holds my stitch marker collection, a hand crafted wooden needle holder purchased at a knitting show years ago containing several tapestry needles, two tape measures, two loose stitch markers, scissors, another pen, a mechanical pencil that says Saskatoon on it, an eraser …

… and four project bags containing works in progress at various stages ranging from newly started to one that is over a year old and has really reached UFO status.

Phew, that wasn’t too bad, normally my knitting basket is much more chaotic and I can never find a measuring tape or a pen when I need one, but I happened to clean it up about two weeks ago so everything is back in its place for the most part.

(I had some fun experimenting with photos inspired by yesterday’s posts!)

  1. That’s a lovely basket – food for thought as that would be easy to dip into down the side of the sofa…mmm. Have to admit mine is usually overflowing too and I have to have a clear out every so often and relegate any WIP I haven’t worked on in a while to the cupboard upstairs…
