Accountability Time

Confession time!  This is a photo of my knitting zone in my office.  It is embarrassing, to say the least.  Everything is pretty much where I put it when I moved rooms back in August and hasn’t been looked at since.  It stresses me out (when I’m not pretending it’s not there).

Yes, it is a mess and a disaster!  I completely agree!

I can’t find anything and make a bigger mess when I do look.  I have been telling myself for a while that I need to take the time to organize my space, but somehow everything else seems more important and interesting.  I think that is pretty much the definition of procrastination! This uninspiring area could be part of the reason I have been a bit lost lately when it comes to blogging, design, and creativity in general.

The icing on the cake happened yesterday as I was thinking about projects and realized I had completely forgotten that I have four skeins of Madeleine Tosh in my stash – how could I forget them?   I’m so sorry beauties; it isn’t personal, please forgive me!  Your time will come, I promise you will become something fabulous!

So, it is time.

It is time to get my craft area inventoried and organized.

It is time to bring the gems up to the surface.

It is time to say goodbye to the things I will never use and donate them to others.

This may take me a while, but stay tuned for an updated photo of my newly organized (and, I hope as a result more inspiring) space!

  1. Good luck with it! It’s a tough job but it’s so worth it when you’re done. I went through a similar clean-up earlier this year and it was fantastic to be able to donate a whole bunch of fabric and wool that I knew I was never going to use. They’re all going to a good home and I can go straight to the items I actually want.

    I’m looking forward to seeing your after photos.
